The Wines
2009 King Valley – Petit Manseng
Aromas of pear, apple, lime and caramelised pineapple. The palate shows honeydew melon, kiwi and toasted marshmallow with subtle notes of curry leaf and lemon verbena. The wine is rich and powerful yet structured and refreshing. Not obviously sweet, the acidity and tannin provide definition and balance. A wine to follow over many years. Works well with Asian food or lighter fruit based desserts for now.
Drink 2011-2030.
2009 Mornington Peninsula
The nose shows lifted, ripe Pinot fruit – cranberry, raspberry and blackberry with underlying rosehip and violet. The palate is textured and round with red fruits as well as quince, cardamom, mace and clove. It is structured and defined but an approachable young wine by our standards.
